2018-19 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Girls Hockey Team

The 2018-19 American Family Insurance ALL-USA preseason girls hockey team was selected based on past performance, level of competition and strength of schedule.

Makenna Webster is the only returning First Team All-USA selection from the 2017-18 postseason team, and she is one of five Shattuck-St. Mary’s players on the preseason team. Bishop Kearney (Rochester, N.Y.) has three members of the team, while White Bear Lake (Minn.) and Blake School (Hopkins, Minn.) both have two. Not surprisingly, Minnesota leads the state contingent with 13 selections. New York has four, followed by Connecticut and Massachusetts with two apiece. Alaska and Vermont also are represented on the team.

Position: Forward Year: Senior Height: 5-5 College: Boston College Noteworthy: For a second straight summer, Bilka suited up for Team USA at the Under-18 Series against Canada. School: Blake (Hopkins, Minn.) Position: Forward Year: Junior Height: 5-10 College: Minnesota Noteworthy: Burton was a member of the U.S. Team at the Under-18 Series against Canada in August. For Blake in 2017-18, Burton tallied 13 goals and 15 assists, leading the Bears to a 24-2-2 record and the Minnesota Class A sectional championship game. Photo: Kristen Burton

School: Vermont Academy (Saxtons Rivers, Vt.) Position: Forward Year: Junior Height: 5-7 College: Colgate Noteworthy: The leading scorer for the Under-18 Czech Republic National Team, Kaltounkova was unstoppable a year ago for Vermont, scoring 51 goals with 33 assists in 36 games to earn All-New England Division 2 First Team All-Star status. Position: Forward Year: Senior Height: 5-9 College: Boston University Noteworthy: A two-time team MVP, Nearis was an All-New England Division 1 First Team All-Star last year after scoring 19 goals and dishing out 22 assists for the Lions, who lost in the New England Division 1 tournament quarterfinals. School: Loomis Chaffee (Windsor, Conn.) Position: Forward Year: Senior Height: 5-7 College: Northeastern Noteworthy: One of four returning All-New England Division 1 First Team All-Stars, Schryver scored 41 points for Loomis (18-5-2), which advanced to the New England Division 1 tournament semifinals.
