Meet the 2019 ALL-USA Preseason Baseball Team

We are pleased to present the 2019 ALL-USA Preseason Baseball Team, as selected by USA TODAY High School Sports Staff, based on statistics, coaches recommendations and scouting reports.

RANKINGS: SUPER 25 PRESEASON BASEBALL

Some familiar faces dot this year’s team, including 2018 ALL-USA First Team selection Nolan Hudi; second teamer Rece Hinds; and third teamers Jerrion Ealy, Geoffrey Gilbert, Riley Greene, Matt McCormick and Bobby Witt Jr.

Four underclassmen made the list, which includes highly touted Deering (Portland, Maine) outfielder Trejyn Fletcher who is reportedly reclassifying to the 2019 class. Three schools ended up with multiple players on the team; Delbarton (Morristown, N.J.), IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and Harvard Westlake (Studio City, Calif.).

All of the statistics listed, unless otherwise noted, are from last season. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

School: Blessed Trinity Catholic (Roswell, Ga.) Position: SS Height/Weight: 6-2/182 Year: Senior Abrams was dominant last season, batting .404 with six doubles, three home runs and 22 RBIs. He is the No. 2 player in the country and an Alabama commit. Photo: Nelson Hicks/WSB Atlanta

School: Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) Position: 3B/RHP Height/Weight: 6-3/210 Year: Senior Baty, a signee to the hometown Texas Longhorns, earned the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year award while still a junior, an almost unheard of accomplishment in Texas. School: McGill-Toolen Catholic (Mobile, Ala.) Position: LHP/1B Height/Weight: 6-0/191 Year: Senior Best, a Southern Mississippi commit, pitched a perfect game last season as part of his All-State in which he went 8-1 with a 0.66 ERA and posted 103 strikeouts in 63 innings. School: Harvard Westlake (Studio City, Calif.) Position: OF Height/Weight: 6-1/175 Year: Junior The No. 4 player in the 2020 class, Crow-Armstrong hit .427 with 22 RBI and stole 11 bases on 11 attempts as a sophomore. School: Travis (Richmond, Texas) Position: SS Height/Weight: 6-3/185 Year: Senior A two-way impact player as a hitter and pitcher, Faltine has deceptive power for his relatively slight frame and velocity that touches 93 mph on his fastball. School: Deering (Portland, Maine) Position: OF Height/Weight: 6-2/190 Year: Junior Fletcher was the No. 1 player in the 2020 class before his reported reclassification. As a Vanderbilt commit, he dominated against elite competition, batting .538 with a .613 OBP in 31 at-bats against top-500 pitchers last year, according to Perfect Game.
