Meet the 2019 ALL-USA Preseason High School Boys Soccer Team

The ALL-USA Preseason Boys Soccer Team for the 2019-20 season was selected by Sheldon Shealer from TopDrawerSoccer.com in coordination with USA TODAY High School Sports, based on past performance, level of competition and strength of schedule. Only players from states that compete in the fall season were considered.

Yaya Bakayoko School: Martin Luther King (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) Position: Midfielder Class: 2020 College: undecided Noteworthy: Bakayoko had 11 goals and 17 assists while playing a major part in MLK's undefeated, PSAL title-winning 2018 campaign. Sammed Bawa School: Taft School (Watertown, Conn.) Position: Forward Class: 2020 College: North Carolina Noteworthy: Bawa scored 26 goals and had 12 assists during a junior season in which he was selected to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class A first team. Ben Bender School: Calvert Hall (Baltimore, Md.) Position: Midfielder/Forward Class: 2020 College: Maryland Noteworthy: Strong, powerful player guided Calvert Hall to a playoff appearance. Drew Blackwell School: Salesianum (Wilmington, Del.) Position: Midfielder Class: 2020 College: New Hampshire Noteworthy: Blackwell scored twice in both the state semifinal and final last season. He was an all-state pick for the defending state champs.Photo: Jerry Habraken/The News Journal

Alex Canfield School: Crystal Lake (Ill.) South Position: Forward Class: 2020 College: undecided Noteworthy: Canfield was the Northwest Herald Player of the Year. He scored 33 goals while leading Crystal Lake South to a state title and a 22-2-3 record.Photo: Gary Larsen

Cao Chaves School: St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) Position: Defender Class: 2020 College: undecided Noteworthy: Chaves anchored a St. Benedict's defense that allowed only five goals during an 18-0 season. Akeim Clarke School: Loomis Chaffee (Windsor, Conn.) Position: Forward Class: 2020 College: North Carolina Noteworthy: Clarke is an emerging talent who helped Loomis Chaffee to a 15-2-3 season in 2018. The UNC commit scored five goals and had 11 assists.Photo: Stan Godlewski
