2014-15 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Girls Golf Teams

The American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Golf team was selected by Chris Langrill, golf correspondent for USA TODAY High School Sports, with help from national golf associations, state associations and media throughout the country.

The selection criteria weighed heavily on the golfers’ success in school (some elite junior golfers elect not to play for their high school teams).

Golfers from states that play high school golf in the fall also are eligible for the team.

James Williams Deming (NM)Williams led the Warriors to their seventh consecutive state championship. That's quite a feat on its own merit, but even more impressively this season's title came after the school moved up from Class 4A to 6A (and had one of the smallest enrollments in 6A).Photo: AJGA

Sierra Brooks Lake Mary Prep (FL), juniorBrooks won Florida’s 1A championship last fall as a junior after losing the state title in a playoff as a freshman and being off the pace as a sophomore. Ranked No. 4 by the AJGA, Brooks helped Lake Mary to the state team title.Photo: AJGA

Hailee Cooper Montgomery (TX), freshmanCooper didn't take long to make her mark on the Texas high school golf scene. The freshman won district, regional and Class 6 state titles while helping her team win a district championship and finish third at state.Those who had been following Cooper, however, likely weren't surprised by her success. She is ranked No. 15 by the AJGA and No. 20 by Golfweek, and she came into her freshman season with a resume that included statewide and AJGA titles. Photo: AJGA

Mariel Galdiano, Punahou (Honolulu), juniorGaliano won Hawaii's state tournament by four strokes. It was her third consecutive state championship, and she led Punahou to the team title in each of those seasons.Galdiano, who is ranked No. 7 by Golfweek and No. 9 by the AJGA, played in the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open at age 13. In May, she qualified to compete in her third U.S. Women's Open. She repeats as an All-USA First Team selection.Photo: AJGA

Lauren Stephenson Lexington (SC), seniorStephenson repeated as 4A state champion last fall while leading her team to its third consecutive title. Not satisfied with those accomplishments, Stephenson joined her high school boys’ team and finished in fifth place in the individual standings at the 4A state championship in May.Earlier this month, Stephenson was named to the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup team, and will compete for the United States in Japan. Sabrina Iqbal Pioneer (San Jose, CA), freshmanIqbal finished as the individual champion in a loaded field at California’s state tournament in November. Iqbal is just 13 years old, but she has been beating 17- and 18-year-old golfers throughout Northern California since 2013.Iqbal won a record eight Junior Tour of Northern California titles in the 2013-14 season, and is the reigning JTNC player of the year. Kristen Gillman Lake Travis (Austin, TX) juniorGillman finished third in the individual standings for 6A state champion Lake Travis. Gillman is ranked No. 4 by Golfweek and No. 6 by the AJGA.She won the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur and the 2014 Junior PGA Championship. She will be playing in the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship this summer.Photo: AJGA

Bethany Wu Diamond Bar (CA), seniorWu led Diamond Bar to the team title at the state competition – the school’s first state title in any sport -- while finishing in a tie for third in the individual standings.Wu was the leading qualifier at the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur and is the only golfer to win the AJGA’s ANNIKA Invitational consecutively.
