Preseason ALL-USA Boys Lacrosse: Second Team

The American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Boys Lacrosse Teams were selected by Casey Vock of 3d Rising. Players were evaluated based on on-field accomplishments during the high school season, statistics and level of competition

Position: Attack School: Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) Class: Senior College: Maryland Bernhardt, a standout quarterback who considered the Division I route in football, is coming off of a monstrous junior season that saw him rack up 64 goals and 50 assists. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete is dynamic and can play both attack and midfield. He should be primed for a big senior season after another tremendous gridiron outing. Position: Attack School: Brighton (Salt Lake City) Class: Senior College: Maryland Fairman, who spent his junior season at Calverton School in Maryland, blew up over the summer with an incredible display at the Under Armour All-America Games as a talented goal scorer. He moved back to his home state of Utah for his senior season and should be one of the most dominant players in the West playing for Brighton. Photo: Casey Vock, 3D Rising

Position: Attack School: Deerfield Academy (Mass.) Class: Senior College: Duke An Under Armour All-American in 2015, the Duke-bound Manown will spend a post-graduate year at New England powerhouse Deerfield and should serve as a jolt to the Big Green offense. Manown, a shifty attackman with great hands, can make decisions quickly and should be poised for another successful season after totaling 49 goals and 37 assists last spring. Photo: Joseph Delaney

Position: Attack School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) Class: Senior College: Uncommitted Perhaps the most naturally talented of any player in high school lacrosse, Nanticoke has otherworldly stick skills and can be a nightmare for defenses; he can create his own shot in seemingly infinite ways and can handle physical pressure and contact like few in high school lacrosse. Position: Midfield School: Mount Saint Joseph (Baltimore) Class: Senior College: Notre Dame Costabile emerged as one of the very best players in the MIAA as just a junior, a powerful dodger from the midfield who forces a defense to react immediately, but also a rugged playmaker in the middle of the field. Now a member of the Team USA U19 squad, the outstanding athlete should help make Mount Saint Joseph a strong presence in the MIAA “A” conference this season. Photo: Ermanno Costabile

Position: Midfield School: Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, Md.) Class: Senior College: Duke Now a veteran varsity player for the storied Georgetown Prep program, Lindsay will lead the way in the middle of the field with his hard-working, blue-collar style of play. He produced 25 goals and 23 assists in 2015 and will look to make an even bigger impact in 2016. Photo: Georgetown Prep Lacrosse

Position: Midfield School: Gonzaga College HS (Washington, D.C.) Class: Senior College: Michigan Myers comes off an impressive junior season that saw him come up with some big goals in important games last season for Gonzaga showing that he can really glide. Position: Midfield School: Greenwich (Conn.) Class: Senior College: North Carolina Known for his incredible shooting abilities on the run and with set feet, Perry was one of the most dangerous midfielders in Connecticut last season and will be again this year for Greenwich. Position: Face-Off Midfield School: Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, Pa.) Class: Senior College: Ohio State Feliziani returns after helping Episcopal Academy to a 14-7 record through one of the nation’s most daunting schedules in 2015. Recently named the Team USA U19 squad, Feliziani’s abilities to control face-offs and spark fastbreaks will put the Churchmen in position to battle for the Inter-Ac title this spring. Positino: Long-Stick Midfield / Defense School: Pittsford Mendon (Pittsford, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Virginia Long, lean and skilled with his stick, Conners has been a backbone for the Panthers’ defense and a catalyst for transition for several seasons. With the ability to make plays up and down the field, he is one of the most impactful players in Upstate New York and should again help Pittsford be a team to beat in Section V Class A. Position: Defense School: The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.) Class: Junior College: Virginia Fake turned heads as a sophomore on The Hun School’s strong schedule as a fleet-footed, smart and skilled defender who can smother dodging attackman and can get to groundballs and make other plays in the open field. Position: Defense School: Bridgewater-Raritan (Bridgewater Township, N.J.) Class: Senior College: Marquette In 2015, Grill led a Panthers’ defense that allowed less than five goals per game and helped the team achieve an incredible 23-0 record and a Tournament of Champions victory. The precise, quick and mean defender was charged with covering the opposition’s best attackman all year and earned the respect throughout the Garden State. Photo: Joe Kaye

Position: Defense School: Ridgewood (N.J.) Class: Senior College: Syracuse Kennedy returns after suffering an injury last season and missing a portion of the year and should provide a boost on defense and the middle of the field for Ridgewood. He is a tenacious, harassing sparkplug of a defender who can get all over the hands, put the ball on the ground and get it up the field. Photo: Ridgewood High School

Position: Defense School: Conestoga (Berwyn, Pa.) Class: Senior College: Virginia Another one of the prototypical Division I defensive recruits in the Philadelphia region this season, Reilly is an athletic defender who has strength and can cover ground, standing 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds. Position: Goalie School: Deerfield Academy (Mass.) Class: Senior College: Brown Goss is a quick-reflex, technically sound goalie who can explode to the ball and has fast hands that allow him to stop shots of all angles.
