THIRD TEAM: See who made the third team
PLAYER PROFILE:
Name: De’Aaron Fox
School: Cypress Lakes, Katy, Texas
Position: Guard
Height: 6-3
College: Signed with Kentucky
Details: Averaged 32.4 points, 7.7 rebounds. 4.2 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game while leading his team to a state runner-up finish.
People say I resemble: When I had my hair cut, they used to say Rajon Rondo. Even with my hair grown out, people say I look like Julius Randle. I smile more than he does, but most of the game, I have a serious look.
College athletes: Should be allowed to be political. They’re grown men, they’re adults and they’re role models.
Season high point: Just being able to perform on ESPN. This was our first ESPN game as a school and being able to perform well in that game was a big deal.
First car I drove: My mom’s car. I don’t even know what it is. It’s a type of SUV.
Dream car: It would be the newest Dodge Challenger and it has to be the Hellcat, which has the most horsepower of all the Challengers. I would say red for the color, but people say that insurance is high for red cars. So I would have to say either white or black.
Basketball influence: My mom, who played at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. She’s my biggest inspiration, basketball-wise. She was a forward and I had to get to middle school before I could beat her. She was good.
Favorite movie: I really like Creed because of what it was about.
Funniest trash talker: Josh Jackson. Sometimes you can look at him you know he’s serious and sometimes it’s funny because he’s so serious. During practice for USA Basketball, he was talking trash to me and Terrance Ferguson.
Second-favorite sport: Definitely football. I should have played, but I didn’t play football in high school.
Hidden talent: Juggling and I used to be able to play the piano, but I haven’t in a while.
