Northfield (Ind.) defeated Blackhawk Christian in a tight 3-0 game last week, and the performance Remington Monce put in on the mound made the difference. Blackhawk Christian couldn’t get anything going, as Monce struck out 17 batters and didn’t allow a single hit.
Monce’s performance leads the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Performances of the Week.
The rest of top performances as the winter seasons begins to wrap up and spring sports begin around the nation:
Hailey Martinez, softball, Bloomington Jefferson (Minnesota)
Bloomington Jefferson had as complete a victory as you’ll ever see over Chaska on Thursday, and Martinez did her part. Bloomington Jefferson won 12-0 and Martinez excelled on the mound. Martinez threw six no-hit innings and struck out 11 batters.
Cole McKissock, baseball, Air Academy (Colorado)
McKissock went on a tear last week, going 8-for-10 with three homeruns and 13 RBI. Mckissock also scored 10 runs.
Harley Mullins, softball, Saltillo (Mississippi)
Mullins was dominant on the mound in two appearances last week, striking out 22 batters over 11 innings pitched. She excelled at the plate as well, going 5-for-8 with a triple, home run, and seven RBI.
Cameron Castaneda, baseball, Piedmont Hills (California)
Castaneda excelled on the mound and at the plate last week. In three games, Castaneda went 5-for-11, scoring six runs and driving in seven. In a win over Silver Creek, Castaneda allowed one run over six innings and improved his record to 4-0.
Tanesha Davis, girls track and field, Horlick (Wisconsin)
Davis was spectacular at the Wisconsin Track & Field Association State Indoor Championships at UW-Whitewater. She won the 55 meter race with a time of 7.27 seconds, a finish that was her second best time in four years. The finish went down to the wire, as she beat the runner-up by just .11 seconds.
Casey Schmitt, baseball, Eastlake (California)
Schmitt was clutch as Eastlake won the John Baumgarten Tournament title. The San Diego State University commit had four hits in the 3-0 win over Chula Vista, including a double and a home run. On the mound, Schmitt closed the game with a four-out save.
Jamie Trabaudo, girls lacrosse, Polytech (Delaware)
Polytech beat Padua 20-4 and Trabaudo contributed with five goals and an assist. Trabaudo followed that up with five more goals in a 16-5 win over Ceasar Rodney, scoring her 200th career goal.
“When my team is down, I can pick them back up,” Trabaudo told Delaware Online. “I can say, ‘OK, this is our game plan, this is what we’re going to do.’ I know some of the strategies, because I’ve played among some of the top players in the nation and I know how they roll when things get hard.”

Tommy Heideman, boys track and field, Satellite (Florida)
Heideman put together a dominant performance at the Astronaut Last Chance Meet in Titusville. Heideman performed in two events, shot put and discus, winning both. He won the shot put with a distance of 51-feet, nine-inches and defeated the rest of the field with a 143-foot discus throw.
Kelcey Leach, softball, The Woodlands (Texas)
The Woodlands beat College Park 17-0, and Leach played a huge role in the win. The junior provided nearly half of The Woodlands offensive production as she went 4-for-4 with eight RBI, a double, and a home run.
