Jake Perrin, a runner for Kalispell (Mont.) Flathead, was the fastest in Montana history for his class in two events he participated at the State AA track and field meet in Missoula.  The Gonzaga-signee smashed two distance records, as he established a new standard in the 1,600-meter run on Friday (4:12.06) and in the 3,200 on Saturday (9:04.35).

Perrin’s performance leads the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Performances of the Week.

The rest of the performances of the week as spring sports continue around the country:

Faith Derby, softball, Freedom (California)

Derby provided the kind of clutch hitting every team needs to have a deep playoff run.  In a 13-1 win over San Leandro last week, Derby went 3-for-4 with a grand slam.  The hitter followed up her performance with a clutch two-run shot that proved to be the difference in a 3-2 win over Castro Valley.

Matt Williams, boys soccer, Archbishop Murphy (Washington)

Williams was the difference-maker in both of Archbishop Murphy’s playoff wins last week. He netted a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over North Kitsap in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs. Later in the week, Williams added two more goals to his postseason tally in a 3-0 win over Aberdeen.

Liz Pautz, softball, Pulaski (Wisconsin)

Pautz was sensational in leading the Red Raiders to their first WIAA Division 1 sectional final since 2007.  The junior right-hander threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts in an 8-0 win over Green Bay East.  On Tuesday last week, Pautz threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts as Pulaski defeated Ashwaubenon 1-0.

Jacob Wareti, boys tennis, Columbus Academy (Ohio)

For the second time in as many years, Wareti is the Division II Central District singles champion, as the senior had a 6-3, 6-2 win over Connor Biernat of Wellington. Wareti is 25-2 this year and his performance helped him advance to the state singles draw for the third straight year.

Shelby McGlaun, softball, Atascocita (Texas)

Atascocita is in the Region II 6A state final for the first time, but McGlann isn’t afraid of the moment. She hit a walkoff two-run homerun as Atascocita defeated Kingwood 3-1.

“She’s been awesome” Atascocita coach Ashley Boyd told the Houston Chronicle. “A situation like that with kids like her, she has no problem stepping up in that clutch moment and finding a way to come up big for her team.”

Erin Ward, softball, Blackstone Valley Regional Valley Tech (Massachusetts)

Ward went 10-for-13 with 12 RBIs and five runs scored in three games last week. Her best performance was a 4-for-4 outing against Abby Kelly Foster.  Ward drove in four and scored three runs.

Ryan Cedzo, baseball, Fairview (Michigan)

Cedzo was a triple short of the cycle last week.  Fairview defeated North East 9-2 and Cedzo went 4-for-4 and drove in four.  He also scored three runs.

Nicole Stanzione, softball, San Marcos (California)

San Marcos would have found it extremely difficult to upset defending San Diego Section Open Division champion Poway without the performance at the plate Stanzione put together.  The Knights’ senior went 3-for-3 with a two-run double as San Marcos won 7-6.  Stanzione, a first baseman, hit .313 this season.
