11 ALL-USA players selected for Premier Girls Fastpitch All-American Game

The game is scheduled to be televised by ESPNU and is on the same day as the PGS 18U National Championship, which also is scheduled to be televised by ESPN.

Players on the East and West teams were chosen by a panel of experts with input from USA TODAY High School Sports, OnDeck Softball and Flo Softball. Players must be registered with PGF, which runs elite club events regionally and nationally, to be selected. The selections for the national teams were drawn from regional teams.

Here are the 11 players selected who received ALL-USA recognition:

Madilyn Nickles, P, Merced, Calif. (Nickles also was named the Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year)

Kayla Konwent, C, Wetosha, Salem Wis.

Miranda Elish, P, Crown Point, Ind.

Katie Chronister, P/1B, Gainesville, Fla.

HONORABLE MENTION

East

Caroline Hedgecock, P, Downers Grove South, Downers Grove, Ill.

Bailey Hemphill, C/3B, St. Thomas More, Lafayette, La. (Hemphill was selected but is not attending)
