A 78-0 win in football almost never happens. It happened last week in Oregon, as Rainier defeated Benson. Steele Ware, a dual threat QB for Rainier, put his stamp on the victory with a 15-for-17, 246 yard, seven total touchdown performance. A victory like that should give Rainier an incredible amount of confidence for the rest of the season.

For his efforts, Ware leads the American Family Insurance All-USA Performances of the week.

Below are the rest of the top performances as fall sports continue around the nation:

Milayne Danna, girl’s volleyball, Pope John Paul II (La.)

The Jaguars have gone 22-0 this year and defeated two out-of-state teams last week. They would have found that task to be even more challenging if it wasn’t for their senior rock. Danna, a setter, recorded 41 assists last week.

Trevor Micek, football, Maple Grove (N.Y.)

The linebacker was all over the field in Maple Grove’s win last week, as he recorded 23 (!) tackles.

Brooklyn Hunter, girls tennis, Hayden (Kan.)

The two-sport athlete (Hunter starts on Hayden’s defending state champion volleyball team) won the Centennial League Championship last week.

Isaiah Ifanse, football, Bellevue (Wash.)

Bellevue defeated Juanita 49-20 and Ifanse was absolutely dominant in the win. The running back rushed for 284 yards on 17 carries and scored five times—all on the ground.

Kelly Bishop, girls cross country, Monta Vista (Calif.)

Bishop was four seconds faster than the competition (a field of 694 girls total throughout the day) en route to winning the Artichoke Invitational. The senior runner completed the 2.33 mile course in 14 minutes and 24 seconds.  The performance helped Monta Vista claim the overall title.

Griffin Merritt, football, La Salle (Ohio)

La Salle defeated Moeller 55-14 and Merritt was outstanding throughout. The quarterback completed 17 passes for 388 yards and six touchdowns in the win.

Sam Streeter, girls volleyball, Eau Gallie (Fla.)

Streeter had 49 kills and 11 aces in a perfect 3-0 week for Eau Gallie last week.

Cameron Dimas, boys cross country, Fort Collins (Colo.)

Denver is famous for its altitude. Dimas, however, is not affected by the altitude. The runner won the Mountain Vista High School Invitational with a time of 16:20, six seconds ahead of the next finisher.

Alonzo Carrillo, boys soccer, Harvard (Ill.)

The senior forward was instrumental in leading Harvard to three conference wins last week.  The captain was involved in 11 of the 17 goals the team scored—as he scored nine and assisted two other goal scorers.
