The 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Basketball Teams unveiled in March had only two underclassmen among the 15 players selected.
DeAndre Ayton from Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix was named to the First Team and Michael Porter Jr. from Father Tolton in Columbia, Mo., was named to the Third Team.
Ayton, a 7-foot center, averaged 29.2 points, 16.7 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks for the first-year program. He has committed to Arizona.
Porter, a 6-9forward, averaged 28.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in leading Tolton to the Class 3 state title. He has moved to Washington state and will play his senior season at Nathan Hale (Seattle) before moving to the University of Washington.
To no surprise, Ayton and Porter also are members of the 2016-17 ALL-USA Boys Basketball Preseason Teams. Each is coming off a strong summer against top competition.
