The high school career of elite linebacker Anthony Hines III ended Friday when Plano East fell to Hebron (Carrollton) 40-35 in the Texas playoffs.

Hines, one of the most sought-after players in the Class of 2017 with 90 scholarship offers, is ranked as the No. 2 inside linebacker in the Class of 2017 by the 247Sports Composite. An Under Armour All-American, he is expected to announce his college decision by the end of the month.

Hines finished his senior year with 245 tackles, 38 tackles for loss, six sacks, five forced fumbles, a fumble recovery for a TD, two interceptions and 11 hurries in 11 games.

For his four-year career (36 games), Hines had 640 tackles, 96 tackles for loss, 27 sacks, 13 forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

He was among the midseason candidates for American Family Insurance ALL-USA Defensive Player of the Year, as noted in early October.
