USA TODAY High School Sports presents the 2016-17 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Lacrosse Team. The team and honorees were selected by Casey Vock of 3dRising.com based on performance, level of play and strength of schedule.

Note: Only players from U.S.-based schools are eligible for the ALL-USA team and Player of the Year consideration.

Player of the Year: Justin Shockey, Landon School (Bethesda, Md.)

Coach of the Year: Bryan Kelly, Calvert Hall (Baltimore, Md.)

Position: Attack School: Cold Spring Harbor (Huntington, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Virgina Laviano finished his high school career by helping the Seahawks to their third consecutive New York State championship and another undefeated record at 21-0. The gifted right-handed attackman led all of Nassau County with 107 points on 68 goals and 39 assists.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Attack School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) Class: Senior College: Albany Nanticoke had another impressive season being shut off and face guarded and still putting up 48 goals and 18 assists in just 14 games for the Ascenders. Along the way, he produced highlight-reel goals but more importantly scored key goals to help IMG piece together a strong Super 25 resume.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Attack School: St. Sebastian’s School (Needham, Mass.) Class: Senior College: Cornell Piatelli emerged as one of the nation’s elite scholastic attackmen this season, helping St. Sebastian’s to a Super 25 appearance and earning Independent School League player of the year honors. Position: Attack School: Bullis School, (Bethesda, Md.) Class: Senior College: North Carolina Trippi closed out a terrific and historic career at Bullis with a 53-goal, 61-assist senior campaign, making him the program’s all-time leading scorer with 335 points. Position: Midfield School: Smithtown East (St. James, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: John Hopkins Able to play both midfield and attack, DeSimone had a tremendous senior campaign that saw him produce the second most points on Long Island with a balanced 60 goals and 54 assists. He helped the Bulls reach the Long Island Class A finale, where they fell by just one goal and finished the year at 15-4.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Midfield School: Cold Spring Harbor (Huntington, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Cornell Licciardi was a sparkplug for the Seahawks this season as a dynamic midfielder who could win face-offs, initiate offense and create transition by way of smart defense on the backend. He helped fuel Cold Spring Harbor’s third New York State title with 24 goals and a Nassau County-best 65 assists.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Midfield School: Garnet Valley (Glen Mills, Pa.) Class: Senior College: Virginia Moore was the most dangerous and dynamic offensive player in the Philadelphia region this season as he helped the Jaguars to the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals and an 18-6 record. The athletic Moore came back from injury to total 28 goals and 41 assists on the year, ending his career with 322 points.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Midfield School: Culver Academy (Culver, Ind.) Class: Senior College: Ohio State Reid was one of the most consistent and polished midfielders in the nation this season as he helped lead a loaded Culver Academy national team to a 21-1 record, Inter-Ac Lacrosse Invitational Championship victory and Super 25 title. He finished the year with 65 goals and 29 assists, and was arguably one of the very best players on the field in any game he played.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Midfield School: Niskayuna (Schenectady, N.Y.) Class: Junior College: Syracuse Quinn closed out one of the greatest careers Niskayuna has seen with a 68-goal, 38-assist performance, all the while being a marked man. Position: Face-Off Midfield School: Landon School (Bethesda, Md.) Class: Senior College: Navy One of the top face-off prospects to come out of high school in the modern era, Shockey won 79.3 perecent of his draws helping Landon run to an undefeated 21-0 season and an IAC championship thanks to face-off dominance and 197 groundballs and is the ALL-USA Player of the Year. He added 14 goals and 10 assists in helping the Bears throttle the opposition all year long. Photo: Landon School

Position: LSM School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) Class: Senior College: Syracuse The low-to-the-ground, groundball machine was a force in the middle of the field, sprinting from the face-off wing and marking the opposition’s top midfield threat. Fernandez finished the year with four goals, six assists, 47 groundballs and 18 caused turnovers as IMG faced a rigorous national schedule.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Defense School: Mount Sinai (N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Johns Hopkins Capobianco-Hogan is a physically impressive athlete with size and the ability to cover ground, which made him a defensive nightmare and groundball machine this season. He also got involved in transition, extra man and six-on-six offense with eight points.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Defense School: Culver Academy (Culver, Ind.) Class: Junior College: Delaware Duff was a towering presence and lockdown defender for the top-ranked Eagles as they played one of the nation’s most grueling schedules and suffered only one loss at 21-1. Playing through numerous injuries, the defensive leader helped Culver keep opponents to just 4.59 goals per game en route to the Inter-Ac Invitational Lacrosse Championship.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Defense School: McDonogh School (Owings Mills, Md.) Class: Junior College: Loyola The dynamic Farrare used his combination of speed and skills to mark the opposition’s top offensive player, which in the MIAA A Conference included a long list of Division I-bound attackmen and midfielders. Farrare played excellent defense with the longstick and shortstick and was an explosive playmaker flying out of the defensive end.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Defense School: Westfield (N.J.) Class: Senior College: Villanova One of the nation’s top defensive prospects, Prybylski helped Westfield keep opponents to just 8 goals per game and led the Blue Devils to another county championship. He has been a key piece of the equation as Westfiled has emerged as a strong program in the Garden State.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Goalie School: St. Paul’s School (Brooklandville, Md.) Class: Senior College: Virginia Rode was widely considered the top netminder in the nation this season after being heralded for his play as an underclassman. He recorded 164 saves and a .601 save percentage as he helped St. Paul’s keep a schedule of daunting opponents to just 7.15 goals per game and finish with a 14-6 record.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising
