The 2016-17 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Lacrosse Second Team was selected by Casey Vock of 3d Rising based on performance, level of play and strength of schedule.

Position: Attack School: Jamesville-DeWitt (DeWitt, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Hobart Archer was the most outstanding attackman in the Syracuse area this season, racking up a 71 goals and 76 assists. He helped lead the consistent Jamesville-DeWitt Red Rams to another state championship appearance, where he put up 2 goals and 3 assists in a strong final showing against Cold Spring Harbor.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Attack School: Deerfield Academy (Deerfield, Mass.) Class: Senior College: Maryland Fairman stood out as one of the most college-ready attackman in the nation this season, and in New England he put together an excellent season facing a concentration of future Division I defenders. He only raised his profile as one of the nation’s most highly regarded recruits with a year against top-flight competition while serving as the focal point of Deerfield’s offense that scored nearly 14 goals per game.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Attack School: Culver Academy (Culver, Ind.) Class: Senior College: Notre Dame A high IQ and dynamic player, Jackoboice was one of the key offensive pieces for the goal-scoring machine Culver fielded this season. Position: Attack School: Avon Old Farms (Avon, Conn.) Class: Senior College: Richmond Lanchbury proved himself to be one of the most dangerous scorers in New England this spring as Avon’s offense put up more than 13 goals per game. Position: Midfield School: Sachem North (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Maryland One of the most consistent players on Long Island, Avanzato closed out his career with a balanced 47 goals and 47 assists in his senior season. The Arrows finished at 9-8 but his production has helped carry the team since he began starting as a freshman. Photo: Sachem North HS

Position: Midfield School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) Class: Senior College: Duke Badour was an intimidating and powerful offensive midfield presence for the Ascenders this season as they put together one of the better resumes in the country. The Duke-bound Ottawa native put up 33 goals and 12 assists while looking nearly unstoppable in some showings against national powerhouse programs.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Midfield School: New Canaan (Conn.) Class: Senior College: North Carolina O’Connell was the most outstanding midfielder in Connecticut this season. The athletic dodger put up 50 goals and 42 assists as New Canaan rolled to a 15-6 record and the state Class M championship. Position: Midfield School: Taft School (Watertown, Conn.) Class: Senior College: Harvard Salvatore dazzled all year long as one of the more difficult matchups in the nation thanks to his ability to get to his shot and let it go with either hand. Position: Midfield School: Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) Class: Senior College: Yale Tevlin put together an impressive senior season with 43 goals and 45 assists, helping Seton Hall Prep make noise along with the way with a major victory over Delbarton. Tevlin was balanced in his production and helped open up opportunities for others on the Pirates' roster to do damage.Photo: Richard Morris, SHP

Position: Face-Off Midfield School: La Salle College (Glenside, Pa.) Class: Senior College: Penn Giuliani was one of the most important face-off men in the nation and one of the most productive as he led La Salle to an incredible 21-2 record in a season that ended in an upset loss for the Explorers. He provided quick momentum heading downfield out of face-off wins and was dominant in key games down the stretch. Photo: Sam Fritch

Position: LSM School: Chaminade (Mineola, N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Harvard Tangredi was the backbone of a Chaminade defense that faced a strong national out-of-league schedule and finished the year at an impressive 11-4 with some high profile victories. Position: Defense School: Deerfield Academy (Deerfield, Mass.) Class: Senior College: Brown An athletic, aggressive and tough specimen, Caputo was the lockdown defender for a Deerfield team that went 14-2 and allowed a New England West-best 5.63 goals per game. Position: Defense School: Darien (Conn.) Class: Senior College: Notre Dame Cohen lived up to expectations this spring with an excellent campaign for Darien as he helped the Blue Wave smother opponents and keep them to just 4.22 goals per game. He was an athletic force as he was assigned the opponent’s top offensive threat and used his mobility and good stick to wreak havoc and make plays. Photo: Darien Athletic Association

Position: Defense School: Delbarton School (Morristown, N.J.) Class: Senior College: Lehigh Douglas was the anchor of a Delbarton defense that allowed only 5.14 goals per game and was a big part of the Green Wave’s sixth Tournament of Champions victory. He was considered a leader and took on challenging assignments while keeping the defense in sync as it suffered only one loss on the year. Photo: Charles Crowley

Position: Defense School: Victor (N.Y.) Class: Senior College: Le Moyne Gardner was one of the greatest stories of the spring – a Division II commit who emerged as arguably the best player in the entire Rochester region. The dynamic defender was Victor’s leader on the way to a third straight state championship as he registered four points, 61 groundballs and 21 caused turnovers.Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising

Position: Goalie School: Culver Academy (Culver, Ind.) Class: Senior College: Notre Dame Schmidt was outstanding as the star keeper for the nation’s top-ranked team, helping Culver’s defense keep opponents to just 4.59 goals per game. He totaled 169 saves (good for a .78 save percentage) and was key in the Eagles’ run to the Inter-Ac Invitational Lacrosse Championship at the end of the season as they avenged their only loss of the year with a win over Haverford School (Pa.).Photo: Casey Vock, 3dRising
