2017 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Boys Soccer Team

The American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Boys Soccer Team for the 2017-18 season was selected based on past performance, level of competition and strength of schedule. Only players from states that compete in the fall season were considered.

In all 22 players were selected with five more on the worth watching list. Illinois leads the way with an impressive seven selections, including a trio of high-scoring teammates from Bradley-Bourbannais — Efrain Davila III and twins Nick and Anthony Markanich. New Jersey is next with five picks, followed by Maryland with three and Massachusetts with two. Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin all have one honoree.

Andrew Cross School: Reitz Memorial (Evansville, Ind.) Year: Senior Height: 5-10 College: Uncommitted Noteworthy: Cross capped an outstanding 2016 season with two goals in the Tigers’ 2-1 win over Chesterton (Ind.) in the Indiana Class 2A state title game. Billy Hency School: Rockwood Summit (Fenton, Mo.) Year: Senior Height: 5-9 College: Uncommitted Noteworthy: Hency was the 2016 Missouri Class 3 Player of the Year and the Gatorade State Player of the Year after a season in which he scored 36 goals, passed for 22 assists and led the Falcons (26-2-1) to the Class 3 state title. Luke Kiley School: Dublin Coffman (Dublin, Ohio) Year: Senior Height: 5-9 College: Georgetown Noteworthy: Kiley tallied 27 goals and 10 assists in 2016, leading the Shamrocks (17-2-2) to the Ohio Division I state quarterfinals. James McCully School: Nauset (North Eastham, Mass.) Year: Senior Height: 6-2 College: Uncommitted Noteworthy: The Warriors had a magical 2016, winning the Massachusetts Division 2 state title with a perfect 23-0 record and allowing just one goal all season. Klaus Pallan School: Barrington (Ill.) Year: Senior Height: 6-0 College: Uncommitted Noteworthy: Pallan was a key cog in the Broncos’ run to the 2016 Illinois Class 3A state title game. Michael Tahiru School: Hebron Academy (Hebron, Maine) Year: Senior Height: 5-10 College: Lehigh Noteworthy: Tahiru was named a New England Prep All-Star after leading the Lumberjacks to a perfect 18-0 season and the Class C tournament title. Kian Alberto School: Delbarton (Morristown, N.J.) Year: Senior Height: 5-8 College: Colgate Noteworthy: A box-to-box stalwart, Alberto tallied nine goals and 10 assists for the Green Wave (17-3-2), who reached the New Jersey North, Non-Public A tournament title game.
