2017 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Girls Soccer Team

The American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Girls Soccer Team for the 2017-18 season was selected based on past performance, level of competition and strength of schedule. Only players from states that compete in the fall season were considered.

Including the team and honorable mentions, 27 players were chosen. Highlighted by Penn (Mishawaka, Ind.) teammates Kristina Lynch and Mackenzie Wood, Indiana is one of two states with four selections — the other being Pennsylvania. Washington is next with three picks, while Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Ohio each has two. Washington, D.C., Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and Tennessee all have one honoree.

Molly Feighan School: Arlington (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) Year: Senior Height: 5-6 College: Notre Dame Noteworthy: The Poughkeepsie Journal Offensive Player of the Year, Feighan led the Admirals to a 21-3 record and the New York Class AA state championship in 2016. Emily Harrigan School: Norwin (North Huntingdon, Pa.) Year: Senior Height: 5-7 College: Rutgers Noteworthy: Harrigan was the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Year as a junior after tallying 32 goals and 16 assists in 2016. Maddie Kemp (#4) School: Camas (Wash.) Year: Junior Height: 5-6 College: Gonzaga Noteworthy: The Papermakers will try to make it back-to-back Washington Class 4A state championships this fall behind the scoring prowess of Kemp. The Washington Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year, Kemp recorded 31 goals and six assists in 2016 as Camas completed a 20-0-2 season.Photo: Dan Trujillo

Kristina Lynch (#24) School: Penn (Mishawaka, Ind.) Year: Senior Height: 5-8 College: Florida State Noteworthy: A returning ALL-USA First Teamer, Lynch scored 38 goals and passed for 26 assists in 2016, leading the Kingsmen to a 22-0-1 record and the Indiana Class 2A state title. Emily McNesby School: Chestnut Hill Academy (Philadelphia) Year: Senior Height: 5-5 College: Maryland Noteworthy: The Blue Devils had their most successful season in school history in 2016, reaching the Pennsylvania Independent state final for the first time. Maliah Morris School: St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.)
