Tim “Ice” Harris is returning to Booker T. Washington (Miami) as head coach for the third time, according to The Miami Herald.
Harris spent the last two years as running backs coach at the University of Miami but was not retained by new coach Mark Richt. It was his second stint with the Hurricanes. He also spent three years on Randy Shannon’s staff.
Harris had a record of 99-10 in eight seasons at Booker T. from 2003-07 and then 2011-13 and was named the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Coach of the Year after winning a state title in 2007. His teams won three state titles in all, including back-to-back 4A crowns in 2012 and ’13.

Earl Tillman coached Booker T. for the last two years and won a pair of state titles. According to The Herald, Tillman will return to his former role as associate head coach and offensive line coach. A number of former Booker T. assistants during Harris’ most recent stint also are expected to return.
