Anthony Hines gained notoriety for accumulating nearly 90-plus reported scholarship offers, but he keeps going out and showing why every Friday night.
On Sept. 23 in a 36-21 victory against Wylie, the Plano East inside linebacker had 23 tackles, two interceptions, two tackles for loss and broke up two passes.
The result last Friday wasn’t nearly as good for Plano East in a 34-6 loss, but as the video above shows, Hines continues to be everywhere. He used his speed on a number of plays to close on ballcarriers who had gotten loose down the field.
As a junior, Hines had 204 tackles with eight sacks, six pass break-ups and three forced fumbles.
He entered his senior year as a member of the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Defense.
Ranked as the No. 2 inside linebacker by the 247Sports Composite, Hines is scheduled to visit Florida this weekend and also has a scheduled visit to Ohio State for the last weekend in October. He is also considering schools such as Texas, TCU, Oklahoma, Penn State, UCLA and others.
