Fremont, Neb., center Jessica Shepard, Nebraska’a all-time leading scorer in Class A girls basketball, had successful surgery Monday for a torn left ACL.

Shepard tore her ACL Dec. 29 in a game with North Star (Lincoln).
Shepard, a preseason American Family Insurance ALL-USA player, was ranked by ESPN as the No. 1 forward in the nation and No. 3 player overall.
The Nebraska signee is expected to miss the rest of her senior season and was averaging 33 points a game this season.
