LSU quarterback commit Myles Brennan became the career leading passer in Mississippi history in the first quarter Friday.

Brennan from St. Stanislaus (Bay St. Louis) needed 125 yards to eclipse Dylan Favre, who threw for 12,559 yards during his career at St. Stanislaus.

He got the record out of the way early, throwing for 153 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter against D’Iberville. He finished with 366 yards and five touchdowns in three quarter and now is at 12,801 yards.

“It’s a huge honor and a huge accomplishment,” Brennan told The Sun Herald. “Not just a personal accomplishment, but a team accomplishment.”

Brennan had thrown for 1,645 yards in his first five games of the season and could potentially eclipse his state single-season record of 5,761 that he set as a sophomore. He also threw for a state-record 64 touchdowns that season.
